The Nehru takes its name from Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first prime minister, whose stand-collar, buttoned-to-the-throat style crossed into Western fashion in the mid-1960s. Available as a jacket or waistcoat, in wool, cashmere, cotton, velvet and linen. Defined by its Mandarin collar and close, tailored fit, it works equally well for evening tailoring and everyday wear.
